This event is all part of the ‘Carbon Reduction Action’ campaign, which kicks off on November 1. New campaign promotes low-carbon living The Carbon Reduction Action campaign encourages the public to adopt low-carbon habits in clothing, food, living and travel. Organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau and the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) and funded by the Environment and Conservation Fund, the campaign is aligned with Hong Kong’s 2050 carbon neutrality goals. Backed by approximately 150 strategic and collaboration partners, including public and private organisations, industry groups, non-profits and schools, the campaign is meant to engage the community in various carbon reduction activities. Since August, the ECC has shared tips for reducing carbon footprints on social media, and the launch of the official campaign on November 1 will encourage people to put this knowledge into action. From November 1 to 30, participants can enter a lucky draw by sharing their carbon-reducing actions on social media and submitting screenshots via the campaign website along with their GREEN$ ID.
