Zayn Malik made a sweet gesture after the death of his One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne. After performing a concert in Leeds, U.K.
, Zayn left a blue screen behind him as he vacated the stage. Across the screen read, "Liam Payne 1993-2024 Love you bro," with a pink heart projected. Zayn's stage included trees on either side of the sign, decorated in fairy lights.
Fans reacted with total tears. Videos showed the moment unfold as fans could be heard weeping and sobbing as they read the final words that Zayn left for Liam. "u could hear the crowd crying in the live streams bro," wrote one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter .

Zayn's comeback to the stage was notably important as he's struggled in the past with on-stage anxiety, especially after his departure from One Direction. While he continued to put out music after stepping away from the boyband life, he declined to perform live and, previously, canceled events over his mental health. Before Liam's death, Zayn announced a fresh set of tour dates, vowing to overcome his fear for us.
However, the dates were derailed when the news of Liam's passing broke. Nonetheless, over a month after the tragic incident, Zayn set off on his tour, starting in Leeds. Recognizing the struggles Zayn faced in making it to his first tour, a fan wrote: "What a beautiful First show and Zayn was amazing and his vocals omg but then leave this tribute just make me cry all over my prayer are with Zayn tonight as he tour too.
" Another added: "i just know he was thinking about him for the whole show. yall don't realize how hard it is to perform in such time. may God help him.
" Fans also noticed the toll Liam's loss took on Zayn, including his on-stage demeanor. A fan said: "U can say whatever u want to but zayn looked drained n broken..
i mean just look at his eyes.. all swollen.
. i felt bad for him that he has to start his tour in such circumstances but still i was hopeful that this will help him overcome his grief but 2day just broke my again."
