Despite recently cancelling all his US tour dates following the tragic death of his former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, Zayn Malik is set to proceed with his UK tour, including a performance in Newcastle this December. The tragic news broke late on Wednesday night that Liam had been found dead in Argentina after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires. This followed a call to emergency services by a staff member who was concerned about a male gues.

On Thursday, preliminary autopsy results revealed that Liam died from multipleinjuries consistent with a 10-metre fall. Any involvement of a third party has been ruled out by Argentine authorities. One Direction released a joint statement late on Thursday, with the X Factor superstars expressing their devastation over Liam's passing.

Zayn then issued his own tribute, stating he felt like he'd 'lost a brother' and wished he could have hugged his former bandmate 'one last time' and told him how much he 'loved and respected' him. Last week, it was revealed that Zayn had put all his upcoming American shows on hold, but he is anticipated to proceed with his UK dates, including a performance at O2 City Hall Newcastle on December 3. A quick look at online ticket platforms shows that tickets for the show are sold out, having been snapped up when the gig was announced last month, reports Chronicle Live .
