The 25-year-old has agreed a one-year, $6million deal with Miami following miserable stints with both Denver and the New York Jets , who drafted him second overall back in 2021. Yet after being released by the Broncos without playing a single snap last season, he will now embark on another fresh start in 2025 as a Dolphin.

Mike McDaniel was in the market for a quarterback behind Tagovailoa, who missed a career-high six games in 2024 due to injuries and his third diagnosed concussion in two years. The Dolphins used three backup quarterbacks in 2024 - Skylar Thompson, Tim Boyle and Tyler Huntley - with little success. Huntley started five games for Miami, going 2-3.
