Zabariah appointed to Judicial Appointments Commission

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Court Judge Datuk Zabariah Mohd Yusof has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC).

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Court Judge Datuk Zabariah Mohd Yusof has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC).Zabariah is one of the nine members listed on the commission's official website.She was appointed as a Federal Court Judge on Dec 5, 2019.

The JAC also comprises Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, Court of Appeal president Tan Sri Amar Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim, Chief Judge of the High Court in Malaya Tan Sri Hasnah Mohammed Hashim, Chief Judge of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Sebli, former Attorney-General Tan Sri Idrus Harun, former Federal Court Judge Tan Sri Datuk Zainun Ali, former Sarawak State Attorney-General Datuk Sri Talat Mahmood Abdul Rashid, and Universiti Teknologi Mara Faculty of Law lecturer Associate Prof Dr Hartini Saripan.The commission was established to ensure that the nomination, appointment, and promotion process of Superior Court judges is transparent and comprehensive.© New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
