Youth crushed under train in Pabna

A youth was crushed under the wheels of a train in Pabna's Ishwardi on Saturday night. The accident occurred at around 10 pm in front of Pakshi Railway Station on the Ishwardi-Khulna railway route. The dead was Tanjid Ahmed Ratul, 18, son of Ziarul Islam, hailed from Bankishor village under Charghat upazila in Rajshahi.

His friend Alip Hossain, 18, was seriously injured in the accident. They were operators of Tiani Company at Ishwardi EPZ. Injured Alip Hossain said, 'We both used to run at night every day on rail track.



Around 10 pm, on Saturday, we started running towards Bheramara on the rail line. Suddenly, I was knocked down by a train. When the train left, I saw that Ratul's body was cut by the train.

' Later, local people got the news and brought me to Iswardi Upazila Health Complex, he said. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Railway Police Station Ziaur Rahman Zia confirmed it. SR.
