After a batting collapse in the first innings where they were bowled out for 150, India staged a strong comeback in the first Test against Australia in Perth. Jasprit Bumrah breathed fire with the ball and took five wickets while Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj chipped in with three and two wickets respectively as India bowled out Australia for 104 in the first innings, taking a healthy 46-run lead. The wicket isn't easy to bat and Australia would have hoped to trigger another Indian collapse, but it did not happen as KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal made Australian bowlers toil hard.

Jaiswal was dismissed for a duck in the first innings but he looked assured and played some crisp shots on his way to 42 at Tea.
