The New York Jets saw the youngest player in the NFL record history on Sunday. Braelon Allen, the rookie running back out of Wisconsin, recorded two touchdowns on Sunday. With the feat, Allen is now the youngest player to ever score two scrimmage touchdowns in a single game in NFL history.

Not only did he record the two touchdowns, but the final one was for the win 24-17 over the Tennessee Titans. Allen is 20 years old and will not be 21 until the summer of 2025. He is the youngest active player in the NFL.

That fun fact was discussed extensively to start the season, including in a feature on Allen on Pro Football Network. "Not only is Allen the youngest player currently in the NFL, he is the third-youngest player to be drafted into the league since 2000, according to ESPN Stats and Info. Funnily enough, the New York Jets have the NFL’s youngest player (Allen) and oldest player (Aaron Rodgers)," Pro Football Network wrote.

He's only 17! https://t.co/1ZzTXoPf2K While he is not 17 years old, being the youngest player in the league is an impressive fact in a league full of young stars. Allen played at Wisconsin from 2021-2023 and then was drafted in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft by the Jets.

He was the 134th overall pick. At Wisconsin, he finished his career with 35 rushing touchdowns, and nearly 3,500 yards. In the Monday Night Football loss to San Francisco, he had one carry and one reception in the game.
