Prashant Kishor NEW DELHI: Jan Suraaj party chief Prashant Kishor got into ugly spat with protesting Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) aspirants on Sunday in Patna , with students alleging that the political strategist-turned-politician intimidated them. The altercation took place early Monday after cops used water cannons to disperse the students demanding the cancellation of the BPSC exam held on December 13. A viral social media video captures the heated exchange between Kishor and the aspirants.

The footage shows Kishor stating, "You have just demanded kambal from us and now showing attitude," which triggered a response from the students. The candidates responded sharply, questioning, "So, are you going to bully us over a blanket now?" “We do not want your help, sir. You left the venue when the Patna police resorted to a lathi charge,” a candidate is heard saying in the video.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) shared the video and accused Kishor of trying to undermine the protests. "These worthless market people have started considering politics as a business. They have considered the public as a business, just like they intimidate their paid staff and paid workers.

This is Bihar, market Babu – votes and issues will not be divided here with BJP's money," the RJD said in a post on X. FIR has been filed against 600-700 individuals, including Kishor, for unauthorised gathering, instigating people, and disrupting public order at Gandhi Maidan. "Jan Suraaj Party was denied permission to organize Chhatra Sansad in front of the Gandhi statue.

However, a crowd gathered at the site, creating a law-and-order problem. Despite repeated requests, they violated administrative guidelines and disrupted public order. The crowd broke loudspeakers installed by the administration, prompting the use of water cannons and force to remove them," the administration said.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Prashant Kishor reaffirmed his party's commitment to supporting students facing injustice. "If injustice is being done to the students, our party will stand with them," Kishor said, defending the intent behind the protests.
