Sat in the European HQ of payments giant Square, on the edge of The Liberties, John O’Beirne smiles as he pulls out his phone. The CEO and executive director of Square International is demonstrating the multinational’s new “tap to pay on iPhone” service. The product allows retailers to accept contactless payments directly from their iPhones, with no additional hardware required.
