‘You deserve no happiness,’ Sowore tells former President Buhari as he celebrates 82

Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoleye Sowore, has told ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, that he deserves no happiness and peace of mind as he clocked 82 years. While many Nigerians including President Bola Tinubu paid glowing tributes to Buhari, on his 82nd birthday on Tuesday, the human rights activist however, took a different route by saying the former President deserves no accolades after a disastrous eight-year reign which was characterized by economic disaster and the massacre of Nigerians. According to the convener of #RevolutionNow, Buhari does not deserve any joy, felicitations, or celebratory sentiments on the occasion of his birthday as his legacy is replete with shortcomings and injustices, rendering him unworthy of any honor, accolades, or happiness.

Sowore who was reacting to a message posted on X by one of Buhari’s former aides, Bashir Ahmad, felicitating with the ex-President said: “A man that destroyed his country does not deserve any honor, accolades or happiness. Baba Munafikin Banza, Baba Barawo Banza. (Vain Hypocrite Father, Vain Thief Father)!” In another post on his Facebook page, Sowore added that the former President does not deserve any happiness on his birthday after eight years of economic disaster and massacre of Nigerians under his torturous administration.



“Considering the economic destruction, looting, and massacres that occurred during his disastrous eight-year tenure, Muhammadu Buhari deserves NO happiness on his birthday!” Sowore wrote.
