The garden at York's Merchant Adventurers' Hall is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. A free exhibition, launching this Easter, will mark the milestone. The exhibition will feature photographs and stories drawn from the Hall's museum and archives, showcasing the history and evolution of the 'Rest Garden' - as the garden was known when it opened in 1925.
Lauren Marshall, museum director, said: "The Merchant Adventurers' Hall garden has long been a place of quiet reflection and natural beauty, and we are thrilled to share its history with everyone as it celebrates its centenary. "This exhibition is a wonderful way to engage with York residents and visitors alike and highlight the importance of preserving such spaces for future generations." The exhibition will be open to all ages from Easter until November, and will also be accessible digitally through the Hall's museum guide on the Bloomberg Connects app.
A free children's activity sheet is also available from the Hall's admissions desk..
