Yellowjackets report: UWS soccer teams clinch conference titles

Both the UWS men and women strolled past Martin Luther and will host their conference tournament games.

SUPERIOR — The Wisconsin-Superior men's soccer team left no doubts as to their supremacy on Saturday, Oct. 26, dominating Martin Luther 10-0 to seal a seventh consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season championship. UWS racked up 52 shot attempts at Superior Choice Credit Union Stadium, putting 25 of them on target in 90 minutes, while allowing only one off-target shot for the game.

ADVERTISEMENT Freddy Watson opened the scoring with goals 2:19 apart in the sixth and eighth minutes. UWS scored four times in the first half and six in the second, with Jake Kidd and Aaron Shartin-Folkert finishing with a pair. Elijah Aultman (Cloquet-Esko-Carlton) finished off the rout in the 77th minute.



UWS (13-3-2, 12-0 UMAC) still has two regular-season games to go starting with a trip to Northland on Wednesday.
