Kalki Koechlin left fans emotional, and teleported back to 2013 when the Bollywood blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani got embedded in the audience hearts. Ahead of its re-release, its actor Kalki Koechlin gave fans a super nostalgic dose reprising her Aditi from the movie. On January 2, a day ahead of its comeback at the theatres, Kalki called out cinephiles to re-live the friendship and funof her gang, also including Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
In a special video shared by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Kalki re-creates her wedding invite video which she send across via mail to her best friend Bunny, played by Ranbir in the movie. The catch is, this time she is calling out the fans to take out some time from their busy schedules and join her group for a reunion on the big screen. The unique video left netizens emotional, given the dialogues of the original scene reverberated with their real selves.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani first released in 2013. The movie, directed by Ayan Mukerji followed the story of four friends - Bunny, Naina, Aditi and Avi. From being college students to adults and how their life and friendship evolves all these years, formed the crux of the movie.
It touched upon themes like love, dreams, self-discovery and realisations. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is the latest film to join the league of re-releases. While 2024 saw several yesteryear hits like Veer-Zaara, Tumbbad, Gangs of Wasseypur and more returning in the theatres, YJHD is opening the 2025 box office with a comeback too.
