Yashasvi Jaiswal IN, Mohammed Shami, Prithvi Shaw OUT: Changes In India Squad From Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2021 Vs Australia

As the squad was announced for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, there were quite a few changes from the squad for the historic Test Series win in 2021 in Australia. India are all set to travel to Australia to take on the reigning WTC champions in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. This is the first time that India will be travelling Down Under since the iconic 2-1 series win in 2020/21. As the squad was announced for the tour which is set to begin on November 22, there were quite a few changes.

Players who were part of the squad then could not make it to the side for the series now, while there are some new faces in the squad as well Here are the changes in the squad for the side: Batters The biggest names missing from the squad are Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. The latter in fact captained the side in the final three Test matches after Kohli left the team after the first Test. Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari too miss out from the squad.



The new additions to the 2024 side are the sensational Yashasvi Jaiswal, debutant Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sarfaraz Khan. Shubman Gill, KL Rahu, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retain their places. Wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha were the two wicketkeeper-batters in the India side for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2021.

While Pant keeps his spot, Dhruv Jurel replaces Saha as the second-choice. All-Rounders Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Washington Sundar the three spin- bowling all-rounders in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2021. They retain their place in 2024.

The pace bowling all-rounder role sees a change as Nitish Kumar Reddy comes in place of Shardul Thakur.
