Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, dropped a bombshell on Tuesday after reports in the media emerged of the southpaw writing an email to Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to change his cricket state team from Mumbai to Goa from the following season. “He has sought a NOC from us and has cited that the reason for his move to Goa as personal,” theindianexpress.com quoted a source in the MCA as saying.
The report also claimed that people close to the 23-year-old confirmed that he indeed wants to make the switch from Mumbai to Goa. At 23, it will be a big move for Jaiswal, especially since Goa has just qualified for the knock-out stage. He follows the footsteps of players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad, who also have represented Goa in their careers.
If Jaiswal indeed does make a move, then he will be following in the footsteps of Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad, who also made the switch from Mumbai to Goa. Jaiswal has played for Mumbai since he was in the U-19 team. He became well-known after scoring a double century for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy a few seasons ago.
