The New York Yankees will have their chance to meet with superstar Juan Soto for the first time since losing the World Series. After a handful of teams concluded their initial meetings with Soto — including the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets — the Yankees will get a chance to gauge the temperature on how those meetings went. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post , the Yankees are scheduled to meet with Soto on Monday.
"Yankees baseball people are said to be 'gung ho' to get this done, and MLB’s highest revenue team certainly should have a solid chance following Soto’s generally positive season in The Bronx," Heyman wrote. "The MLB owners’ meetings begin Tuesday in New York, so the Yankees will presumably be one of the last to meet with Soto, if not the last team. However, it isn’t known whether that’s any sort of advantage.
" There haven't been any reports of offers being made from other teams during the initial meetings yet so it's likely that this whole process is still in the very early stages. With that said, the Yankees have had the chance to give Soto a front-row view into what it's like to be a member of the Yankees. Making it to the World Series certainly helped their case, though, it would have been strengthened with a ring.
The 26-year-old phenom is likely going to get some massive offers potentially surpassing $600 million as teams vie for his services so this continues to be the biggest storyline to monitor throughout the offseason..
