Yamaha FZ-S Fi hybrid launched in India. After making its first public appearance at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January, Yamaha has finally launched its first-ever hybrid motorcycle , the FZ-S Fi Hybrid, in India. The bike is priced at Rs 1,44,800, ex-showroom, and brings a mix of design tweaks, technological upgrades, and more.
FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Design & features At first glance, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid retains its familiar muscular stance but gets subtle design changes. The fuel tank cover now has sharper edges. A notable update is the integration of front turn signals into the air intake area, giving the motorcycle a cleaner look.
One of the biggest updates comes in the form of a new 4.2-inch colour TFT display, which adds smart connectivity features such as call and notification alerts, music playback control. It also gets fresh and repositioned switchgear for better usability.
The handlebar position has also been changed and the horn switch has been repositioned to improve accessibility. Additionally, the fuel tank now sports an airplane-style fuel cap. The FZ-S Fi Hybrid will be available in two colour options: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.
Simple One review: Is this the EV to beat? | TOI Auto FZ-S Fi Hybrid: Engine The model employs the same 149 cc, single-cylinder motor as the standard bike, where it makes 12.4 hp and 13.3 Nm of torque.
However, it is not yet confirmed if the power figures have also received a slight boost. Moreover, the biggest talking point of this motorcycle is its Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which is a first for Yamaha motorcycles in India. Yamaha has previously introduced this technology in its RayZR and Fascino hybrid scooters, and now, it makes its way into the FZ lineup.
The ISG works alongside a Smart Motor Generator (SMG), which charges the battery and provides a mild torque boost for quicker acceleration. It is particularly useful in stop-and-go traffic conditions and overtaking. Other fuel-saving tech additions include start/stop functionality and a silent start system.
