An international wrestling star was rushed to the hospital after a stunt he performed went horribly wrong on live TV. JD McDonagh was visibly unable to move outside the ring after performing a daring yet common springboard moonsault flip onto an opponent. Fighting during an episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw, the ‘Irish Ace’ was competing for the World Tag Team Championship with his Judgement Day clanmate Dominik Mysterio when the incident unfolded.

JD propels himself from the top and middle ropes of the ring toward his opponent Ivar of the War Raiders when upon landing his back connects with the edge of the commentator’s announcing table. Legendary commentator Michael Cole said JD should be checked on to ensure he wasn’t seriously injured. “Somebody’s got to check on McDonagh after that,” Cole said as they showed a replay of the incident.

“McDonagh’s lucky he doesn’t have a damn broken neck.” By a stroke of luck or simply pure adrenaline, JD saw out the remainder of the match. Following the title fight’s conclusion, JD could be seen backstage collapsed on the floor.

WWE officials promptly announced he had been taken to hospital where it was later confirmed he had broken several ribs and even punctured a lung. JD later broke his silence on social media. “First off, thanks to everyone for the messages and the concern.

I’m good,” he wrote on X. “I’ve got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I’m going to be out for a couple of months. “All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, so I’m grateful for that.

See ya in a bit.” He will be ruled out of Saturday’s Royal Rumble..
