While the debut of WWE Raw on Netflix is now just a week away, fans have another major event to look forward to just a few short weeks afterwards. The 2025 Royal Rumble takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday the 1st of February. One of the most-anticipated Premium Live Events in the annual WWE calendar , the show is likely to be headlined by the 30-man Royal Rumble match, with the winner earning a guaranteed world championship match at WrestleMania 41.
With several weeks still to go until the event, exactly who will be in the marquee match has yet to announced. However, oddsmakers have already priced up the marquee match and the market makes for interesting reading. The Royal Rumble is a standout event in the WWE calendar and this is exactly how it came to be.
As long-time WWE fans will know, while the Rumble includes 30 entrants, only a handful have a realistic chance of taking the victory. For that reason, there’s little point in going line-by-line through the odds and discussing each man’s prospects in the match. However, the market drawn up by SkyBet includes a number of noteworthy potential entrants - and we’ve taken a look at them in detail below.
Goldberg The WWE Hall of Famer might be 58 years old, but he still wants the chance to have a retirement match before he hangs up his boots. The Royal Rumble match would be the ideal setting for the former WCW champion to bust out a few spears and a Jackhammer, get a big reaction from the crowd, and then get eliminated. It would make for an epic Royal Rumble moment, but there's pretty much no chance that Goldberg is winning the match outright.
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens Rhodes may have won the last two men's Royal Rumble matches, but as the reigning WWE Champion, he's unlikely to win the bout for the third year on the spin. Owens winning is almost just as improbable as the pair are set to square off in a WWE Championship ladder match elsewhere on the Rumble card. Now, there's always the possibility that the loser of that match may enter the Royal Rumble in an attempt to secure another title opportunity.
However, it would be a major surprise to see either man win it all - even if they do enter. WWE Royal Rumble 2025 is the first Premium Live Event to live stream on Netflix. Here is everything you need to know ahead of the event.
Logan Paul 'The Maverick' has already revealed that he has his eyes set on winning the World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Gunther, after officially signing with Monday Night Raw earlier this month. Logan may well get a crack at that title on a Premium Live Event, but that match is far more likely to happen on the road to WrestleMania 41 than at the big show itself. Paul could well enter the Rumble match and dazzle the crowd with one of his trademark highspots.
Just don't expect him to win the whole thing. Brock Lesnar A former two-time Rumble winner, 'The Beast Incarnate' has been absent from WWE television since SummerSlam 2023, where he faced Cody Rhodes. Plans to bring him back for the 2024 Royal Rumble were shelved due to outside of the ring controversies.
However, Lesnar is still under WWE contract and - if he is going to return - there would be few more impactful ways for him to do so than as a surprise entrant in what will almost certainly be the most-viewed Royal Rumble match in history. Brock simply making his comeback would be big enough news. A third Rumble victory isn't necessary.
Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre & Seth Rollins There's a reason why this trio has been grouped together. All are former Royal Rumble winners and all have been involved in the World Heavyweight Championship picture in 2024. They will almost certainly remain near the top of the card in 2025, too.
However, none of the trio would truly benefit from winning another Rumble, nor does there seem to be a pressing storyline reason for them to win the match in order to get a guaranteed title shot at WrestleMania. The Rock and Roman Reigns The Rock and Reigns were heavily involved in the main events on both nights of WrestleMania 40 earlier this year, even teaming together in the headline contest on night one to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Both 'The Final Boss' and 'The OTC' could be said to have unfinished business with reigning WWE Champion Rhodes.
As a result, a Rumble win for either man could make a lot of sense, depending on what direction WWE decides to head in for its biggest shows of the year. CM Punk 'The Best in the World' has made no secret of his desire to main event a WrestleMania throughout his career. In fact, the refusal of WWE to put him in the headline contest at WrestleMania 29 in 2013 was seemingly a major factor in why he decided to walk away from the company for close to a decade before his 2023 return.
Technically, Punk doesn't need to win the Royal Rumble to get his wish at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this coming April, but it would certainly help. The Chicago native would be a fresh winner of the match too - something which hasn't happened often in the modern era. The company appears to have been making an effort to keep Punk out of the title picture since he returned from a torn triceps over the summer.
If the plan is to give him a championship win on the biggest stage possible, then a Rumble win can't be ruled out. Men's WWE Royal Rumble Match Winner Odds (Selected Entrants Only) Superstar Odds to win (UK) Odds to win (US) John Cena 6/5 +120 CM Punk 11/4 +275 The Rock 5/1 +500 Roman Reigns 5/1 +500 Seth Rollins 12/1 +1200 Randy Orton 14/1 +1400 Drew McIntyre 14/1 +1400 Brock Lesnar 16/1 +1600 Logan Paul 16/1 +1600 Kevin Owens 20/1 +2000 Cody Rhodes 25/1 +2500 Goldberg 66/1 +6600 Odds taken as per SkyBet - 30/12/2024 - subject to change John Cena A former two-time Royal Rumble winner, if Cena is going to make it a hat-trick of victories then he simply must win the 2025 match. The 16-time world champion has declared that 2025 will be his last year in the ring, meaning that the upcoming Royal Rumble will be the last that he is able to compete in.
With Cena's final WrestleMania already firmly on the horizon, the company wants to make the best possible use of the future Hall of Famer. Per reports that began to circulate last week, WWE have internally discussed the idea of Cena facing off with Cody Rhodes to go for a record-setting 17th world title. GIVEMESPORT's Key Statistic: John Cena is currently tied with two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair on 16 world championships.
While that match could still happen even if Cena doesn't win the Rumble, it's tough to imagine a more popular ending to the match than the legendary Superstar winning it all in his last appearance in the match. With John Cena approaching his final in-ring year in the WWE, it seems his final WrestleMania match could be his biggest yet..
