I hypothesized the Bloodline would steal the show, which didn’t quite happen because we didn’t see the return of Paul Heyman.
Instead, an injection of Sami Zayn delivered the substance that added another layer to the ongoing saga. Here are the five biggest takeaways from WWE Crown Jewel 2024. WWE and WCW legend Goldberg was a guest on ESPN’s College Gameday, where he announced he would be having a retirement match in 2025. Goldberg teased Gunther as his opponent, a continuation of their exchange from WWE Bad Blood in October.
Does Goldberg go over in his last match? We all know he shouldn't, but we'll have to wait and see how it unfolds. (Photo by WWE/Getty Images) Solo Sikoa pinned Roman Reigns to win as the numbers game continued to get the better of the original Bloodline. There were continued tensions between Reigns and Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn came out to save Jey from a chaired, running stink face. However, Zayn also mistakenly caught Reigns with a Heluva kick in the middle of the ring to add some spice to his polarizing presence in the storyline.
Injecting Zayn back into the mix was an excellent idea to refresh the story, but at some point, another member will be needed for the Survivor Series, and I wonder if Sami Zayn will be the answer for the OGs. Nia Jax did win Queen of the Ring, but it felt like she could have been put over as the most dominant female champion in WWE. She's earned it, but it was also good to see Liv acknowledged. She's come such a long way as a complete performer.

We've seen some adversarial banter between Raw's Adam Pearce and Smackdown's Nick Aldis, but nothing physical. During the Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton clash, KO hit Pearce with a stunner.
We might see Pearce tell Aldis he's responsible for the actions of his Superstar, which could be the groundwork needed to set something up for Survivor Series on November 30. Gunther could have won and gone down as the most dominant champion in WWE, but instead, Rhodes got the win pulling a page out of Bret Hart's book to get the victory. This ending might have been a hearkening back to Gunther's clash with Hart during the feud with Zayn earlier in the year. When you consider Gunther is also likely to be the opponent for Goldberg's retirement match, he might be set to tangle with some legends while defending his world heavyweight title.
