Wrexham, with their eyes firmly set on climbing up the leagues, are scouring the globe for top-notch talent. The club, which boasts Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as owners, has shown interest in Scottish prodigy Josh Adam, formerly of Manchester City . Phil Parkinson, the boss at Wrexham , has let slip to the press that they've had the 20-year-old sensation in for a trial - and they are now looking to sign him permanently.

"We've had young Josh Adam in on trial from Manchester City," Parkinson revealed. "He's a player we'd like to keep. He has real talent.

" Adam has been turning heads at Manchester City's academy, showcasing his skills across various youth squads, including the Under-18s and Under-21s. His football journey began at Celtic before he made the switch to Man City, where he was instrumental in their consecutive title-winning campaigns in Premier League 2 during the 2021-22 seasons. With 38 youth matches under his belt, along with six goals and an assist, Adam has made quite the impression.

In May 2024, Manchester City confirmed Adam's departure upon his contract's end, a move first revealed by his father in a heartfelt social media post: "Good luck today, son, in your last game for Man City," he penned. "Been a quick four years." During his stint at the club, which saw him become a two-time U21 Premier League champ, he caught the attention of European outfits Lille, Club Brugge, and Lorient.

Now, he appears on the brink of joining Wrexham after being spotted training with the squad. While Wrexham supporters are keeping an eye on the deal, their team proudly perches atop League One, edging out Stockport by three points. The club currently has a hefty squad of 30, including a congested group of thirteen midfielders.

The transfer window recently concluded with Wrexham bringing in eight new faces, three snagged on frees. Among the fresh additions is George Dobson, signed from Charlton Athletic, who's already contributing with an assist across his first quartet of appearances. Andy Cannon, since linking up with Wrexham in '22, made his mark by netting one in a resounding 3-0 triumph over Reading last August.

However, injury woes have kept him sidelined, prompting manager Parkinson to share an update on his condition. Parkinson divulged: "Slight problem that causes his hamstring to tighten up when fatigued. He'll be back next week.

" It's also been disclosed that Wrexham's seasoned three-year midfielder Elliot Lee has sought a specialist to resolve an old injury..
