WREXHAM AFC's kit manufacturers Macron announced a "record business year" with over 200 million euros in turnover. Macron, leading brand in sportswear, closed 2024 with a financial report declaring a further double-figure growth. Consolidated turnover exceeded 200 million euros at a final figure of €223.
6 million, 13.7% higher than in 2023 (€196.6 million) and over 30% higher than in 2022 (€170 million).
The brand’s two main markets globally are the United Kingdom and Italy – both accounting for 21% of turnover – but Macron’s economic solidity is also reflected in consistent and solid growth figures across all the countries in which the Bologna-based company operates. The sportswear brand has been the technical sponsor of Wrexham AFC since 2016/17, making it the longest kit partnership in the club's history. Macron and Wrexham AFC continued and strengthened their partnership after the Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed the takeover of the club in 2020.
2024/25 season's game set is characterised by the recurring theme of the Dragon, the club's symbol creature. A pattern representing the dragon scales is present on the red Home kit, on the black Away kit (which also pays tribute to the Anniversary of the Gresford Colliery disaster in 1934, in which 266 miners lost their lives) and on the golden Third kit. In 2024, the UK contributed €46.9 million in turnover, accounting for 21% of our global sales and marking a 10% year-on-year increase. As the regulatory landscape evolves, we remain confident in our ability to adapt and continue delivering value all over the world. Tariffs may change the rules, but they won’t change the spirit in which we approach the game.” In the UK, Macron runs its business through 27 Macron Sports Hubs – 17 in England, five in Wales, four in Scotland and one in Ireland.
