Wrapping up the week with a couple more record warm days around Rochester

Much of southeast Minnesota will see highs in the 60s and 70s as we wrap up the week, before a chance for rain heading into a cooler weekend.

Similar to the start of the week, we are tracking a couple of beautiful days around the Rochester area that could see some record highs. Today we still have a few high clouds sliding through the region, but temperatures look to warm up into the mid-60s this afternoon, with the current record standing at 68° set last year for Rochester. So while it may not break the record, we could see a few spots come close.

Friday looks to be even warmer, with winds increasing a little out of the southeast, and highs topping out in the mid-70s for Friday afternoon. However, it will likely be similar to today where much of the region comes just shy of record highs, as the standing record was set at 74° back in 2012. ADVERTISEMENT Friday night will bring a change to this warm pattern though, as we are keeping an eye on a low pressure system moving through the region, that will look to bring in the chance for a rumble of thunder Friday night with a few showers.

Then for much of Saturday, the off and on showers will continue, with highs topping out in the 40s for much of the afternoon with a gusty northwest wind to start the weekend..
