Daijiworld Media Network- Mumbai Mumbai, Feb 22: A stellar all-round performance by Amanjot Kaur and a captain’s knock by Harmanpreet Kaur powered Mumbai Indians to a thrilling four-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a Women’s Premier League (WPL) clash on Friday. Batting first, RCB posted a competitive total of 167/7, thanks to a scintillating knock by Ellyse Perry. Walking in under pressure at 57/4, Perry anchored the innings with a stunning 81 off just 43 balls, laced with 11 boundaries and two sixes.

Skipper Smriti Mandhana (26 off 13) and Richa Ghosh (28 off 25) provided valuable contributions. Mumbai’s Amanjot Kaur was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3/22 in her four-over spell. Chasing 168, Mumbai Indians rode on a crucial half-century by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (50 off 38, 8 fours, 1 six), along with a fiery 42 off just 21 balls from Nat Sciver-Brunt.



Amanjot Kaur once again played a pivotal role, remaining unbeaten on 34 off 27 balls, striking two fours and two sixes. Her composed finish ensured Mumbai crossed the line with one ball to spare. "It feels great to win the match for the team.

I knew that if I stayed till the end, we could win," said Amanjot, who was adjudged player of the match for her brilliant all-round display.
