Works on a new seafront cycle path are underway. The upgraded cycle path, which borders Lancing Beach Green, hopes to improve safety by separating cyclists and pedestrians outside the busy Perch café area. West Sussex County Council are working in partnership with Lancing Parish Council to complete the works.
Improvements include converting the existing shared use path to two separate, segregated routes and the installation of additional cycle facilities including inclusive user group cycle stands. Phase one of the works begun outside the Perch café, with the plan to develop further areas along the stretch finishing at the bandstand.
The council assured that access to all businesses and public toilets along the main path will be maintained at all times. Images show the cordoned off area where excavators are on site to complete the works. The works began on March 3 and are set to last for ten weeks.
