Work in tandem with govt: Mundian to 6,391 panches

Ludhiana: Punjab revenue and urban development minister minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Tuesday urged the newly elected panches to work hand in hand with the Punjab govt to ensure comprehensive development of villages, while also fostering “communal harmony, peace and brotherhood”. Mundian told 6,391 newly elected panches, whom he administered the oath of office at Hi-Tech Cycle Valley in Dhanansu village, that people have entrusted them with the important responsibility of promoting the prosperity and progress of their villages. He urged the panches to ensure they start working from the word go and begin sending proposals of the development works to the govt “so that funds can be issued instantly”.

The Sahnewal MLA said the state govt has fulfilled most of the promises made to the people. “The education and health sectors have witnessed unprecedented development, with several reforms,” the minister said, adding, “state-of-the-art infrastructure is being established in govt schools and hospitals, ensuring the delivery of quality services.” The budgets for both the education and health departments have also been increased to better serve the public.



A major initiative has been launched to promote sports through the “Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan” programme. “Over 48,000 youth secured govt jobs through a fair and transparent process since the Aam Aadmi Party has formed the govt,” he said. Raikot MLA Hakam Singh Thekedar urged the panches to work dedicatedly for the “holistic development of villages”.
