The car park on the left-hand side, closest to the Asda, is now fenced off and unavailable to the public. Pellikaan Construction is leading the build of the new facility on Wiltshire Council’s East Wing site. Construction traffic is currently accessing the site via the main entrance just off the mini roundabout opposite County Hall.
Wiltshire Council has stated that it will provide further updates during construction. In March, Pellikaan Construction’s project director Corné Van Mook recently joined the councillors in Trowbridge for a site visit, during which he described the location as "great" but "complicated", with old buildings having been dotted around the site.
Divisional director at Roberts Limbrick Architects Bastin Bloomfield was also present and explained that the design was centred around accessibility and inclusivity. Wiltshire Council has also been working with Hadron Consulting, Hydrock (now Stantec), and Alliance Leisure, the delivery partner for the UK Leisure Framework, on this project..
