Pakistan head coach Jason Gillespie showcased to the world how to lead by example, as the former Australian international went viral recently for his act of humility. Gillespie, 49, is the current test coach for the struggling Pakistan national side, which has dealt with disappointments galore on the international stage. Pakistan, on all formats of circket, have endured a disastrous period so far, dealing with crushing exits at both the ODI and T20 World Cups.
On the red-ball side of things, their luck hasn’t been any better, as they were on the receiving end of an embarassing 3-0 whitewash in Australia last year, following which a humiliating home series defeat against Bangladesh brought national embarassment. Now, facing England in a three-test series, the Pakistan team has clawed their way back into contention tying up the series 1-1 with a thrilling win in their last Test in Multan. Despite the despair surrounding the team, Gillespie showcased class and humility, as recently footage of the head coach picking up the water bottles strewn around the practice ground sent social media on a frenzy.

It’s not humility. It’s upbringing.

Pakistan were helped to all 20 England wickets by left-arm spinner Noman Ali and right-armer Sajid Khan as England crumbled to 144 all out chasing a tough 297-run target. The third and final match will begin on Thursday..
