Seeking to strengthen its position as a leader in brand strategy and development, the agency set out to hire a creative leader with a unique and exceptional skill set. Enter Tyler Johnson, boundary-pushing local designer known for his thought-provoking insights and determination to achieve the most memorable, action-inducing creative. Tyler previously worked with the Wonderhorse team from 2015-2018 as a Graphic Designer.
Between then and now he worked at Swim Creative in Duluth as an Art Director and for the past two years has been an impactful part of Malley Design in Minneapolis as Senior Designer. Along with being involved in local projects, his experiences range from working with former NFL players in Florida to mountain bike companies in the Pacific Northwest and East Coast, equipping him with diverse insights to bring to the wonderhorse team, ensuring every final product is distinct and noteworthy. Even with projects taking him across the country, reconnecting with his local community and helping businesses within it thrive had recently been on his mind.
While receiving numerous opportunities to come back and work closer with the Duluth community, none felt quite right until Wonderhorse approached him to join the team as Creative Director. “I admire how the company has reimagined and restructured itself over the last few years,” Tyler said. “They’ve undergone several intentional changes with the goal of creating a vibrant work culture.
There is a huge emphasis on work-life balance and genuine camaraderie. I think over the next couple years it will be known more as a career destination for those who want to do well and live well.” Tyler’s keen eye to detail and design along with his range of experience with various industries makes him a strong asset, not only to the team at Wonderhorse but also all clients and the community that will benefit from his talents.
