The road to Cary is long and treacherous, but there's nothing better than finally reaching the destinations. Sixty-four teams will attempt to do just that as the NCAA women's soccer tournament commences. Florida State will defend last year's title as a No.
1 seed this season after winning its fifth straight ACC tournament. The Noles took down North Carolina to claim that title, and the Tar Heels will be one of their biggest competitors during the playoffs. The 21-time national champions are going for their first tittle without coach Anson Dorrance, who retired ahead of the 2024 season.
Placed in the same quad, should both Florida State and No. 2 North Carolina reach the quarterfinals, the programs will face off with a trip to the elusive College Cup on the line. Fellow ACC program Duke, as well as USC and Mississippi State round out the top seeds of the tournament bracket but it's anyone's game.
