WILLMAR — Kinsley Duppong made seven threes and notched 28 points as Concordia JV sailed to victory against the Ridgewater women’s basketball team on Monday night. Duppong shot 10 of 15 from the field and sank 7 of 9 three-point attempts in Concordia JV’s 83-51 win over the Warriors. Ridgewater is 0-5 to open up the season.
The sophomore guard filled up the stat sheet outside of her strong shooting night. Duppong posted seven assists, six rebounds, three steals and one block. Ellie Welch, a freshman forward from Pelican Rapids, secured a double-double for Concordia JV.
She had 14 points on 7 of 12 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds, seven on defense. Concordia JV’s Ashlyn Thompson and Kaia Gack scored in double figures. Thompson, a sophomore guard from Thatcher, Arizona, had 13 points, six assists and six rebounds.
Gack, a freshman forward from Sartell, piled on 11 points and six assists. Julia Hines dropped 18 points for the Warriors. The freshman guard from Randolph knocked down six threes on 16 attempts.
Ridgewater’s Lily Dean and Kaydence Bertram each nearly reached double-doubles. Dean, a freshman guard from BOLD, tallied nine points and nine rebounds. Bertram, a freshman guard/forward from Melrose, tacked on 11 rebounds and eight points.
The Warriors host Central Lakes College of Brainerd for their first Minnesota College Athletic Conference game of the season at 5 p.m. Friday in Willmar.
