Isabella Tisdall, 25, was horrified to discover the wall outside her property on Sutton Road, Southend, had been smashed apart, costing potentially hundreds of pounds of damage, by a “white Ford van”. Furthermore, Isabella’s silver Fiat 500 car has been badly damaged after the wall collapsed and hit the vehicle and has been told it will likely need to be replaced. She is now appealing for information on the driver, who she claims sped off after the crash between 12.

15pm and 12.45pm on Saturday towards Scott’s of Southend garden centre. Isabella said: “I was told by someone who saw that it was a white Ford van that came from the Rochford direction, from the skid marks they mounted the pavement and drove along into the wall which also hit my car and carried on driving.

“I think it is cowardly they haven’t come forward and if it is an accident, they should have. “There must be a reason why they did not apologise or own up to it, as they were doing something wrong or do not want to pay. “Our road is a 40 mile-per-hour road, and I walk my dog down it, there are a lot of runners there so it was lucky when this happened that no one was there.

” The owners of the garden centre have been contacted to help and while there was CCTV capturing the roads, Isabella has not yet found a vehicle matching the description. “This happened between 12.14pm and 12.

45pm and people have come forward and checked their ring doorbell footage for us but it doesn’t stretch far enough back,” she said. “I do get the impression they were driving quite fast; it has completely taken down our wall and while I have never mounted a pavement, you do try and pull off it quickly, not carry on along it. “On a Saturday as well, it would have been so busy as the garden centre is busy so more people could have seen.

” Essex Police have been contacted for comment..
