Christmas is expensive. We all know it, but yet we can't stop spending money for this special time of year. According to London Mutual Credit Union , Brits splurge an average of £660 to £1,150 per household on Christmas , with decorations being one of the main parts of this, alongside the food and the presents.

Instead of buying new decorations every year, it can save you money to fix and upcycle your old items - including your Christmas tree. While artificial Christmas trees can look look beautiful, putting together the pieces of it and spreading out its branches can be a time-consuming task, especially if you're aiming for a fuller look. A woman shared her ultimate hack on how to make your sparse Christmas tree look fuller, and it will only cost you £1 to recreate.

Home styling expert Kirsty from House of Haz revealed her ultimate tip on how you can make your artificial tree look like a bushy full tree by adding a garland. She explained: "Green tinsel is my must have Christmas hack of the year. Put it around your tension poles around your bannisters and through your tree to fill out those gaps.

" In a video published on TikTok , she showed her artificial trees, which, although had been fluffed to look as good as possible, still had some rather big gaps between the branches. However this was no match for Kirsty, who showed how she took a two metre long tinsel in the same colour as her tree, which she had bought for £1 at B&Q . She then wrapped the tinsel around the tree and between each branch off camera and later showed off the dramatic transformation which made the artificial tree get the perfect Christmas tree shape.

As she later put decorations on it, there was no way of knowing that only seconds before, the tree had looked like it was on its last legs..
