A WOMAN has been left stunned after learning she had been filling her car with gas incorrectly the entire time. A TikTok user was left amazed after finally discovering how useful the little clip on the gas nozzle could be. Kate Steiner, who’s on the social media platform under the name k8steiner, posted her confession under the caption: “Only took 34 years to figure this out”.

In the video, which quickly went viral and racked up over a million views, Steiner reveals that she finally worked out what the little clip on the gas pump nozzle was for. In it, she shows a gas pump that pans over to the nozzle, which is running using the hold-open clip. For drivers across the US, this handy clip can be found on virtually all gas pump nozzles, and works by allowing customers to pump the gas without holding down the hand lever.
