One woman, Hillary, was astounded after discovering a straightforward method to aid her digestion and reduce bloating. She was puzzled by her mother-in-law's habit of drinking hot water with lemon with every meal – a method her relative had been using for years. @telloandrose took to Instagram to share: "I used to think my mother-in-law was crazy for drinking hot water at every meal but now I know why.
" Hillary, who lives in Missouri, continued: "I saw my brilliant mother-in-law drinking a cup of hot water in a hamburger restaurant. I was so intrigued as to why she drank it at every meal so I looked it up and couldn't believe all of the benefits." Reacting to a popular video clip, someone shared their personal regimen: "I drink a cup of warm water in the morning (first thing when I wake up) and at night before I go to bed! It's magic for the body." Agreeing with the benefits, a paediatric gastroenterologist affirmed: "This is 100 percent correct." Another enthusiast of the method said: "I do this everyday and it's been a game changer," Meanwhile, a hot lemon water fan expressed: "Hot lemon water is my go-to drink too! It's the first thing I have every morning after I wake up.
" An additional testimony came from a person who said: "It helps with gas too! I felt like I was having a heart attack during my C-section and it was my husband who told me it was gas trapped, he made me piping hot tea several times a day until it went away." According to a 2021 study noted by Healthline, participants had either 300 millilitres (mL) of water or lemon water before meals for 4 weeks. After collecting stool samples before and after the experiment, results suggested that lemon water pre-meal can enhance the body's essential digestive processes.
Cleveland Clinic states: "You can drink lemon water anytime, but many people prefer the morning. It's a good way to hydrate your body right when you wake up. Plus, the lemon boosts your vitamin C intake before you start your day.
