Surat: A 25-year-old woman lodged a complaint of rape against a 29-year-old man who developed a physical relationship with her but reneged on his promise of marriage. Pal police arrested the man, who runs a private loan agency. The victim married in May 2022.
However, due to disputes with her husband, she returned to live with her mother and brother. She joined the family business, where the accused and his fiancée came in for a makeup package for their pre-wedding shoot. After their appointment, the woman gave her number for payment purposes.

The accused then began taking the woman on outings, and in July 2024, he invited her to a private club in Pal, where he allegedly raped her.
