Woman killed in Tangail road accident, husband injured

A woman was killed and her husband injured in a road accident in Tangail's Mirzapur upazila on Tuesday night. The accident took place at around 11 pm in front of Mirzapur Cadet College on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. The dead was identified as Shiuli Akter, 45, wife of Shariful Islam.

Shiuli Akter worked as an Assistant Team Leader in the Production Department at Square Pharmaceuticals Limited in Mirzapur and her husband Shariful worked as a Senior Assistant Fitter in the engineering department of that company. Mirzapur Police Station Sub-Inspector Zahurul Islam said that the couple were returning home from work riding on a motorcycle at night. At that time, Shiuli died on the spot when an unknown car hit the motorcycle in that area.



Her husband was seriously injured. He was rescued and admitted to hospital. SR.
