HOUSTON — A woman is dead and three others injured, including two children, in a crash involving a wrong-way driver in north Houston early Sunday morning, according to Houston police . Police said the crash happened just before 3 a.m.
on the Eastex Freeway near Aldine Bender Road. According to HPD, the driver of a pickup truck was heading the wrong way in the northbound lanes and crashed into an SUV that was headed in the correct direction. The woman driving the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two children, ages 14 and 6, who were riding in the pickup truck were taken to an area hospital but are expected to be OK. The driver of the pickup truck reportedly suffered a broken leg. HPD said they suspect alcohol played a role in the crash, but that's still under investigation.
