The woman was ejected from her motorbike on Nelson Bay Road in Fullerton Cove on October 4, causing serious head injuries. The 55-year-old was treated by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives were told a ute was driving in front of her before the crash. The 55-year-old driver of the ute spoke to police at his home in Chisholm shortly after the crash. He was taken to hospital for mandatory testing As the investigation continues, police has asked anyone with dashcam footage, or information about the crash, to contact Crime Stoppers.
