A woman died in Chikkamagaluru two days after giving birth to a baby in the district hospital. Savitha, 36, wife of Praveen Kumar, resident of Shankarapura in Chikkamagaluru, died on December 17 night at a private hospital in Chikkamagaluru. She had delivered a boy through C-section at the district hospital on December 15.
She was shifted to a private hospital the same day after she developed breathlessness and heart-related problems after the delivery. Mohan Kumar, district surgeon of Chikkamagaluru, said Savitha died in the private hospital where she was undergoing treatment for heart-related problems. “The child is healthy.
It was her second child. and we are taking care of the child in NICU,” he said. The Deputy Commissioner has ordered an inquiry into the incident, the officer added.
