Woman dies in wildfire, four injured

Panchthar, April 4: A woman diedwhile four others got injury in separate wildfires occurred in thedistrict. The victim of the wildfire occurredin the Tamrakhu forest of Kummayak rural municipality-3 was a local PratimaSambhahamphe, 26. Three others injured in the fire were Sapana Sambahamphe, 28;Shivana Sambahamphe, 11; and Nirmaya Sambahamphe, 60.

They were in the forestto collect fodder, according to police inspector at District Police Office,Bina Lal Sah. The injured ones have been taken tothe BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) for treatment. Injured seriously in the incident,Pratima breathed her last on the way, while three others are undergoingtreatment.



Chairperson of ward no 3 fromKummayak rural municipality, Baburam Karki, informed that the forest fire hadnot ceased yet. The locals were worrying the spread of blaze in the nearlyvillage if it was not doused on time. Meanwhile, Usha Nembang Rai, 47,from Phidim-14 has been injured in a fire occurred in the Raniban communityforest.

Rai was collecting wood fromforest. She has been receiving treatment at BPKIHS. (RSS).
