A woman has been cut out of a car which crashed into a restaurant in Astley Bridge this afternoon, Saturday. Emergency services were called after a car crashed into Ayaans on Old Road at around 2pm. Fire crews, including a technical response team were called, and used cutting equipment to remove a woman from the car before she was taken to hospital.

A route into the nearby Asda supermarket has been closed by police. Police have closed a section of the road (Image: Newsquest) A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 2pm this afternoon (Saturday), two fire engines from Bolton Central and Bolton North fire station, along with the technical response unit from Leigh, were called to reports of a car hitting a building. “Crews arrived quickly at the scene.



"Firefighters worked to make the area safe, they used cutting equipment and extraction equipment to remove a woman from the car, before she was taken to hospital by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. “Firefighters were in attendance for around 40 minutes.” Greater Manchester Police were approached for more information.
