Surat: A 32-year-old woman hanged herself while on a video call with her husband in the Mograwadi area of Valsad on Thursday. The police investigation revealed that the woman suspected her husband was having an extramarital relationship . Aarti Patel made a video call to her husband, Jitendra, and asked him to answer it.
During the video call, Patel hanged herself at their apartment. After the call, Jitendra went home and broke down the front door with the help of neighbours. Patel was found hanging by dupatta from a ceiling fan.
She was taken to hospital in an ambulance but was declared dead. "So far, we have not received a complaint against anyone. We are registering statements to gather more details," said a police officer.
Jitendra drives a cooking gas cylinder delivery van, while Patel worked on garments at home. They have two sons, 13 and 19. Both sons were out, and Jitendra was at work when Patel ended her life.
