The 2024 WNBA MVP was announced on Sunday morning and Las Vegas Aces star forward A'ja Wilson was a unanimous winner. Wilson, the best player in the league, was a deserving choice. But that's not what fans are debating on Sunday morning.

Instead, it was Angel Reese's placement on the ballot. One voter had Reese, who had a really good rookie season, all the way up at No. 4 overall on their ballot.

Is that too high for a player who averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game? Some would say it is.

In fact, some are saying that the WNBA voter who had Reese at No. 4 on their ballot should be "banned" from voting again. Icon Sportswire/Getty Images "This is not a shot at Angel Reese whatsoever.

She has nothing to do with this — whoever used a fourth-place MVP vote on Reese should be banned from voting on league awards forever. They clearly don’t take the process seriously and can’t even pretend to be unbiased," one fan wrote. Another added: "Not trying to start anything but voting Angel Reese 4th for MVP is neglecting professional responsibility.

4 on the ballot has some serious explaining to do, that's for sure. Caitlin Clark, meanwhile, finished in fourth place in the voting. She was also named the AP Rookie of the Year in unanimous fashion.

“This is a tremendous honor to be named The Associated Press Rookie of the Year,” she said. “This recognition wouldn’t be possible without an incredible group of teammates and coaches, and we are looking forward to continuing an exciting regular season in the postseason.” The 2024 WNBA playoffs are set to begin on Sunday.

Wilson, Clark and many others will be in action. Related: There Are 4 WNBA Playoff Games Today - Here's The Schedule.
