Ground is ready to be broken at Riverside Village. Fansler Construction, contracted firm for Riverside Village master developer South City Partners, got the go-ahead to pull the construction permit on the bulk of new builds at the Village, some of the 315 apartments and just over 8,000 square feet of retail space across three projects in the Village. South City received planning commission approval for its projects in April, shortly after North Augusta City Council approved the new development plan for the future of Riverside Village .

Apartments over retail will go up on the land immediately south of the Crowne Plaza, adjacent to Sharon Jones Amphitheatre. The land transfers from former Riverside Village master developer Greenstone to South City went through early in August when South City purchased four properties for a combined $6.83 million .

North Augusta City Council recenlty approved lenient terms for Fansler’s construction permit, valid Sept. 17 of this year through May 31, 2026, allowing Fansler to work extended hours over the course of the work. Rules of use for North Augusta's boat dock finalized.
