INDIANAPOLIS — Tuesday was 20-30 degrees colder with highs in the lower 40s compared to the upper 60s on Monday. It will be dry and chilly Tuesday night into early Wednesday, with morning temperatures in the upper 20s. The weather pattern turns active Wednesday afternoon and stays active over the next seven days.

Wednesday starts dry, but ends with a wintry mix of rain, sleet and freezing rain. Minor ice accumulations are possible across northern Indiana. One thing working in our favor is the fact that the wintry mix starts later in the day and this should give us enough time to warm above freezing.

We will be watching temperatures closely. Be prepared for the wintry mix from 1 p.m.

through 11 p.m. Wednesday.

A few downpours and rumbles of thunder are also possible Wednesday night. Here is the timeline with FutureTrak13: The weather system exits on Thursday. Forecast highs near 50 degrees before we get back in the colder air.

Highs drop back into the upper 30s on Friday. The active pattern continues with rain and a wintry mix on Saturday and a snow chance on Tuesday next week..
