Denver residents are set to experience a mix of winter weather with the National Weather Service (NWS) predicting snowfall and cooler temperatures in the coming days. According to the National Weather Service , there's a 40 percent chance of snow after 9 a.m.

today, with less than a half inch of accumulation expected. Heading into tonight, the odds for snow linger at 40 percent before 8 p.m.



and while primarily cloudy skies will prevail, the thermometer is set to dip to a crisp 19 degrees, the area is going into this with a north wind that will slow to a breeze, come evening and new snowfall will again be modest, under half an inch. For Tuesday, Denver is looking at clear sunny skies and a slight uptick in temperature with a high near 40, though winds may pick up, reaching gusts up to 25 mph. The NWS outlines a shift towards warmer days as the week progresses, with midweek highs soaring back into the more agreeable 50s, while nights will be partially clouded, temperatures ranging from the high 20s to low 30s.

The mountains are expecting to receive up to 6 inches of snow through early Tuesday, as per the NWS's Hazardous Weather Outlook, spotty conditions will affect the high country, though snowfall should be less than 3 inches, the winds will remain brisk and areas east of the mountains, especially the southern foothills and Palmer Divide, can anticipate a couple of inches from this swift-moving system. Spotter activation will not be required, but locals are encouraged to stay informed as the week could see another wave of mountain snow on Thursday night and Friday..
