The number of sales in November (1,045) was 24 per cent higher than in the same month in 2023, and a little better than the five-year average. Listings were down 12 per cent compared to November 2023, while the total dollar volume of more than $397 million was up 40 per cent. There were 678 sales of residential detached homes — the largest category — up 20 per cent from the same period last year.
The average sales price was $433,968, up 16 per cent. Condominium sales had a good month, up 28 per cent over November 2023, with an average price of $255,997, up four per cent over a year ago. “November represents the seventh month in 2024, and second consecutive month, when there were double-digit sales increases for all property types,” said Daphne Shepherd, WRREB president.
Average prices for the main three property types were higher than both November 2023 and the five-year average. On the year-to-date total sales, listings and dollar volume were all higher than as of the same time last year and the five-year average. Total year-to-date sales of all types of homes for the end of November was 13,859, up 12 per cent.
Total listings were up two per cent and total dollar volume of more than $5.2 billion was 20 per cent better than 2023. — Free Press staff Advertisement.
