A winner has been announced in a competition for school children to design a Bolton MP’s official Christmas card. Children from school all over the Bolton North East Constituency took part in the competition to design a festive card for Kirith Entwistle MP. First place has gone to nine-year-old Keaton Foster from Hardy Mill Primary School in Harwood.
Ms Entwistle said: "I love that so many children took part in the competition, and we have some wonderful young artistic talent in Bolton. “It was really hard to pick a winner, congratulations Keaton on your lovely design. The winning entry by nine-year-old Keaton Foster (Image: Office of Kirith Entwistle MP) “I will be displaying many of the other drawings I received on my office walls to celebrate this year's competition.
“Thank you also to The Bolton News for their support in making this competition possible.” Children took part in the competition over the last months, with schools all around Bolton North East invited to take part. Once the entries had been collected, Ms Entwistle then chose the winner out of the many fine festive efforts from the constituency’s youngsters.

Keaton will take home a “Parliamentary Speaker Bear” from the House of Commons donated by Ms Entwistle , who will also now feature Keaton’s design on her official Christmas card. Runners up were seven-year-old Szofia from St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Halliwell and nine-year-old Nina Topping from Egerton Community Primary School.

It will also be shared with other high-profile figures like Speaker of the House of Commons, former Bolton School boy Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP. This year marks the first time that Ms Entwistle, who was elected in July and has recently set up her constituency office, has run the competition.
She says that she hopes to run it again next year with more notice to allow an even wider array of schools to take part..
